CHS Band Weekly Update 11/25/24

Good morning Band Family,

We have a short week, but a lot going on. 

UVA Seat Removal

• The last UVA home football game was this past Saturday, now all we have left to do is clean it all up. 

• Clean-up is way easier and shorter than install and usually makes great money per hour. 

• We break up into two teams with a team lead to help organize the sections that you are working in.

  • Team leads should arrive 15mins early to get a review of what we are doing so you can pass it along to your team.

• You will need a drill with a ½” socket and a ½” crescent wrench. We have a few of these if you need to borrow some. If you have clippers or strong industrial scissors bring those as well, and a pair of work gloves. 

  • If you don’t have any tools then you can help out by running and stacking seats.  

• Our first removal day is this Sunday December 1st from 10am-4pm in 2 hour shifts. A great way to work off some turkey and earn some money!

District Band Auditions Saturday December 7th

• Auditions are less than 2 weeks away

• Tobin audition prepared piece link

  • Helpful for more than just clarinet players

• Auditions are at Louisa County High School

• Registration opens at noon and will likely run until 2. (for those of you with SATs)

• We will send a bus from the high school at 10:30am to Lousa

• If you ride the bus, you can not leave until everyone is finished (5:30?)

• Students, you can not drive yourself, but a parent may drive you

  • If you ride with a parent you may leave as soon as you finish your audition

• Please fill out this form by Tuesday afternoon, if you need to ride the bus.
